We embraced the limited branded color palette and brought this nautical story to life using combination of traditional cel animation & 3D.

Brand-Driven Aesthetic

We limited the color palette to black, white, grey and green—the latter serving as Westmont’s hero color.

This minimalist approach emphasized the brand's identity while drawing focus to key narrative elements.

"Ship at Sea" Metaphor

The animation depicts work as a vast sea, with its challenges and uncertainties. A ship symbolized the client’s journey, navigating turbulent waters under the guidance of a skilled captain.

Process

Animatic > design > animation

Since the concept was key to our client, we adjusted our workflow to make sure we favored that. We opted to think through the full animation before any look development.

Technique-wise, cel allowed for fluidity both in the characters as well as the water effects.
